Collaboration Guides the Design Process in Lexington, Virginia

brwarchitects has a longstanding reputation of working cooperatively with religious congregations throughout the planning process, ensuring that both historic renovations and new facilities result in a sense of communal ownership and shared space. After a summer of significant preliminary work with an ad hoc Design Committee at RE Lee Memorial Episcopal Church, we focused on incorporating Parish input and feedback at a meeting on September 27.

In addition to visiting working in beautiful Lexington, Virginia, we look forward to using our extensive experience with historic places to renovate the Parish House and create updated space for the music ministry at the church. The project also enhances the relationship between Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute, whose students and cadets congregate together at the Church.
