B.Arch | University of Virginia

Hafsa joined brwarchitects in 2023, bolstering the firm’s growing affordable housing studio. Originally from New Jersey, Hafsa returned to Charlottesville in 2021 to pursue her Master of Architecture during the pandemic and decided to stay afterwards. Between her degrees, she worked for over five years for architecture firms at the intersection of design, justice, and community empowerment.

Her prior work has been multidisciplinary and dynamic by nature where she typically worked directly with residents on projects spanning from single-family homes, offices, and public art installations to organizing discussions about how art, craft, culture, and history shapes the built environment in our cities. Hafsa’s experience spans full-service architecture from concept to construction admin as well as design-build and construction management.

Hafsa’s interest in design that builds and supports vulnerable communities is evident in her work at brwarchitects thus far. She will support the office’s multi-family affordable housing and construction administration efforts as well as much more in the future.

In Charlottesville, she spends her free time volunteering with local groups as well as hiking, cooking, and crafting with her friends.
