2026 Erwin-Ramsey Fellowship Open for Applications

Feb 20, 2026 | Erwin-Ramsey Fellowship

The 2026 fellowship application period is closed.

About Us

Since 2019, brwarchitects has proudly hosted the Erwin-Ramsey Fellowship for graduate students and graduating fourth-year undergraduate Architectural students. The Fellowship aims to deepen BRW’s architectural contributions to Charlottesville, where we’ve served the community for the past 41 years.

The Fellowship Experience

Every summer, one Fellow is selected for an intensive three- or four-week program. They will design a research project focused on addressing a community need for the residents of Charlottesville. The Fellow’s work concludes with a final deliverable and a public presentation, workshop, showcase, or similar capstone developed by the Fellow.

The Fellowship spans either three or four consecutive weeks, during which the selected Fellow works on a self-initiated project aimed at enhancing Charlottesville’s built environment for all. Affordability, accessibility, and equity are crucial factors in shaping our communities. The Erwin-Ramsey Fellowship is for students passionate about exploring the intersection between these factors and architectural practice, particularly in serving marginalized communities.
