karim habbab, assoc. aia
design associate & bim coordinator
A skillful and experienced mentor at BRW, Karim originally moved to Charlottesville in 2011 from his hometown of Amman, Jordan, to attend the University of Virginia. In his time with BRW, he has managed the resident-led redevelopment of the public housing at South First Street along with Principal Kurt Keesecker, and has integrated new technologies include VR and feasibility data modeling into the Firm’s services. Karim’s intrigue in design evolved into a current practice of designing spaces for people to inhabit and interact with, while striking a creative balance between aesthetics and functionality.
From 2021 to 2024, Karim served on the Charlottesville Planning Commission, following in Principal Kurt Keesecker’s footsteps who served on the Planning Commission from 2010-2018.
In addition to his career and work in the community, Karim pursues photography and traveling and enjoys graphic design and swimming. Karim received his green card in 2022, an exciting and long-awaited accomplishment for both Karim and the firm.
